Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
Success also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was finished.
But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional championship, took control to create a decider.
Moutet rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
